We know outdoor projects come with real questions. Whether you're just getting started or already living the good life outside, these FAQs cover everything you need to know—from what makes WeatherStrong® cabinets weather-tough to how to keep them looking sharp. Let’s get into it.
WeatherStrong® is the leader in outdoor cabinetry built to handle the harshest elements—sun, salt, rain, snow, and everything in between. Proudly manufactured in Florida, we design our cabinets with All-Weatherboard® construction and premium finishes that deliver real durability, zero maintenance stress, and indoor-worthy style. Whether you're by the coast or building a backyard escape, WeatherStrong® makes it easy to create an outdoor space that lasts.
WeatherStrong® cabinetry is proudly manufactured and shipped from our state-of-the-art facility in Bartow, Florida. Built close to the coast, our cabinets are designed and engineered with real outdoor performance in mind.
WeatherStrong® cabinetry is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty—because outdoor durability isn’t just a promise, it’s our standard. We stand behind every cabinet we build with protection against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use.
Cabinets are delivered through Ideal Shipping, our premium delivery program designed specifically for cabinet orders. With careful handling, room of choice delivery, and a less than 1% damage rate, Ideal Shipping helps ensure a smooth delivery experience from start to finish.
WeatherStrong cabinets are crafted using our proprietary All-Weatherboard® construction—a waterproof, durable material engineered specifically for outdoor environments. The doors and drawer fronts are made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), offering long-lasting performance against moisture, UV rays, and extreme temperatures without warping, swelling, or fading.
Yes. WeatherStrong cabinets are engineered to support heavy countertop materials including granite, marble, quartz, tile, and other standard surfaces. For long-term beauty and performance, always follow your countertop supplier’s recommended maintenance practices.
WeatherStrong hardware is built with high-grade stainless steel, offering exceptional resistance to corrosion—ideal for outdoor environments.
Still, in oceanfront locations where salt air and sea spray are prevalent, consistent cleaning and maintenance are essential. To help prevent surface rust, it's recommended to clean all stainless steel components several times a month to remove salt deposits before they can lead to corrosion.
Yes. WeatherStrong cabinets feature a frameless “European” design, meaning all doors and drawer fronts are full overlay—they cover the entire front of the cabinet box for a clean, modern look.
Yes. WeatherStrong cabinets are engineered to perform in a wide range of climates. For high-heat environments, ensure cabinet surfaces do not exceed 265°F. In regions where temperatures drop below freezing, installation under cover is recommended for best results and added protection.
No. Painting or altering the surface color of WeatherStrong cabinets is not recommended and will void the warranty. Doing so can restrict airflow within the material and increase heat absorption from direct sunlight, which may affect performance and durability.
Because installation surfaces can vary—such as wall and floor construction—WeatherStrong Cabinetry does not include installation hardware with your order. Please refer to our installation guide for a full list of recommended and required items.
To join cabinets together, we recommend using a 1¼" stainless steel screw. We offer these in our WSSS1.25-Screw Kit for your convenience.
Your WeatherStrong® Outdoor Kitchen Island is shipped in several sections, making it easier to transport to the installation site. Cabinets are individually assembled. Island sections are designed to be screwed together during the assembly process.
The Glacier Frost WeatherTop is shipped separately and must be installed during the assembly process, they are not pre-installed. To attach the tops, we recommend using a high-quality outdoor-rated construction adhesive.
Yes. Depending on the size and configuration of your WeatherStrong® Outdoor Kitchen Island, the countertop will be supplied in multiple sections, and there will be one or more seams. This is a normal part of manufacturing and transportation for larger countertop assemblies.
No. However, the leg mounting plates are pre-installed on the underside of the cabinets. The stainless-steel adjustable legs are shipped separately and are simply screwed onto the plates during assembly.
The Jupiter 32” Classic 4-burner built-in gas grill is packed separately, with an insulated heat liner, and must be installed in the island after assembly. *We strongly recommend hiring a licensed gas professional to complete the gas hook-up.
Yes. The Jupiter Classic 4-burner built-in gas grill must be installed in the insulated heat liner supplied with the grill. Both the grill and the liner are packed together in the same box.
While your Jupiter grill includes a complimentary 14-inch gas hose, designed for standard installations, depending on your island layout and propane tank location, some installations may require a longer hose. To help avoid installation delays, we recommend reviewing your planned gas setup in advance and consulting with your installer. If a longer hose or additional parts are required, they need to be purchased separately through a local retailer or qualified supplier.
Depending on the size and configuration ordered, your WeatherStrong® Outdoor Kitchen Island may arrive on multiple pallets. Please plan ahead, by ensuring there is adequate space for unloading and staging the materials. Before signing for delivery, inspect the shipment for any visible damage and verify that all items listed on the delivery paperwork have been received. If you notice any visible damage, missing items, or any other concerns, be sure to note them on the delivery receipt before signing. This documentation can help expedite the resolution process should any follow-up be needed.
Because the island components may ship on pallets, customers should ensure there is sufficient space available for unloading and temporary storage until installation can begin.
Pallet dimensions and quantities may vary based on the island configuration ordered.
The number, width, depth, and height of pallets will vary depending on the configuration purchased.
Your order confirmation or shipping information can be referenced for shipment details.
Before installation, carefully compare all items received against your WeatherStrong® order confirmation to ensure every component has arrived.
Your WeatherStrong® Outdoor Kitchen Island package includes the island cabinetry, countertop, Jupiter grill with insulated liner, side burner with heat liner, hardware, and any optional accessories purchased. Please note that the Jupiter grill and insulated liner are packaged together in the same box, and the double side burner and heat liner are packaged together as well. Additionally, hardware and optional accessories may be packaged inside the WeatherStrong® island cabinets for protection during shipping, so we recommend opening and inspecting all boxes and cabinet interiors before reporting any missing items.
If you discover any missing or damaged items, please contact our Customer Care Team at customerservice@hdckitchens.com or 866-373-9131 as soon as possible so the issue can be documented and resolved promptly.
To help expedite the resolution process, please have your order number, a description of the issue, and photos of the damaged or missing components (if applicable) available when you contact us.
WeatherStrong® recommends using a premium construction adhesive suitable for outdoor installations, and following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
Professional installation is recommended, to ensure proper adhesion and long-term performance.
Yes, but with an important requirement: any built-in, heat-generating appliance must be installed with a manufacturer-supplied insulated jacket or liner. Installing a grill without this protective component will cause irreparable damage to your cabinets and will void the warranty. Always follow the appliance manufacturer’s installation guidelines.
Yes. Any cabinet sides or backs exposed to direct sunlight or weather must be covered with a matching end panel made of coordinating High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). These panels protect against UV damage and moisture. Failure to install them will void the cabinet warranty.
Matching toe kick is optional and must be purchased separately. It comes in a 6” x 96” size and is designed for on-site modification and installation to suit your specific layout and preferences.
Yes, it’s recommended. When installing cabinets with end panels against a wall, a minimum ¾" filler panel should be used. This prevents full overlay doors or drawer fronts from rubbing against the wall and ensures smooth operation.
Absolutely. WeatherStrong cabinets are built to withstand harsh outdoor conditions, making them an excellent choice for indoor installations as well—especially in damp or high-moisture areas like basements, laundry rooms, and garages.
No. WeatherStrong does not include installation hardware with orders due to the wide variety of wall and floor construction types.
We recommend reviewing our installation guide for a list of suggested and required items. To secure cabinets together, use 1¼" stainless steel screws—available in our optional WSSS1.25-Screw Kit.
Clean your cabinets using water and a soft cloth or sponge. For everyday messes, a mild dishwashing liquid works well. For tougher spots, use Simple Green All-Purpose Household Cleaner. A soft-bristle brush can help with stubborn grime.
For hardware like pulls and hinges, wipe with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then immediately dry with a lint-free cotton cloth to maintain their appearance and prevent buildup. To help prevent surface rust, it's recommended to clean all stainless steel components several times a month to remove salt deposits before they can lead to corrosion.
Our Marine Grade Polymer features consistent color all the way through the material. Unfortunate scratches that break through the surface will be less noticeable.
Absolutely. We offer a range of replacement parts, including doors, drawer fronts, and hardware. To order, please contact your dealer or visit our website for more information.
